Eat, drink and be merry. Then, do it all again. Following are our favorite restaurants in Historic Downtown Pensacola, just a quick jaunt from our Pensacola Beach hotel.
Adonna’s Bakery & Café This bakery doubles as an eatery, where you can order soups, salads and delicious sandwiches before sampling the baked goods. They also make a great breakfast. Croissant, anyone?
Al Fresco Enjoy fresh, local flavor from four airstream trailers. Z Taco serves up Mexican, Gouda Stuff offers gourmet grilled cheese, Fusion Cuisine is Asian-inspired, and Gunshot BBQ speaks for itself. There’s also the new Shux Oyster Bar around the corner.
Atlas Oyster House Enjoy freshly shucked oysters and inspired sushi rolls at this raw bar overlooking the harbor. Prefer your food cooked? There are hot entrees, too.
Beef ‘O’ Bradys This family-friendly sports bar’s menu is chock full of popular appetizers like fried pickles and chicken wings, while also sporting pizzas, sandwiches, salads, tacos and more.
Blue Dot Barbeque This hidden hotspot sits in the heart of Belmont-DeVilliers. There’s often a line out the door for their savory ribs and one amazing hamburger. Be sure to ask for the ‘special sauce.’
Carmen’s Lunch Bar Her slogan says it all: “Where good friends meet great food.” The restaurant is small, but it’s big on flavor. Try the famous Chicken Salad with golden raisins and slivered almonds.
Dog House Deli If you love a hot dog, the Dog House is the place for you. These quality franks are great as is, but the eatery offers a multitude of toppings from homemade chili to jalapenos and then some. Try the Red Beans and Rice.
The Fish House A great spot for local seafood, with a large deck overlooking Pensacola Bay. The cuisine spans Cajun to Asian, and there’s often live entertainment. Check the events calendar for daily specials on the Deck Bar. They’re famous for the Grits a Ya Ya, shown above.
Five Sisters Blues Café Head to historic Belmont for real soul. They’ve got the best fried chicken in town, and if you’re lucky, you might catch a bluesy performance while you dine.
Four Seasons Market & Eatery With daily specials (like Meatloaf Monday) for pick-up or delivery, you can call in your order or just pop by. Take it to one of Downtown’s beautiful parks, or stroll all the way to the bay.
The Global Grill Enjoy upscale tapas or main plates by award-winning Chef Frank Taylor. Favorites include the Tuna Cubes Skewered in Sesame Vinaigrette and Baby Brussels Sprouts with House Smoked Bacon and Gouda Cheese Sauce.
Hopjacks Pizza Kitchen & Taproom Is there a better pairing than pizza and beer? Order your pie and your pint here.
Jaco’s Bayfront Bar & Grille This is the best place to watch the sunset overlooking the bay. They’re known for their flatbreads and signature cocktails.
Jackson’s Steakhouse Award-winning Chef Irv Miller prepares the finest steaks and seafood in a beautiful ambiance, just off Ferdinand Plaza. Your first martini is free with lunch.
Picasso Jazz Club If the music is wonderful, the food is the perfect complement. From the cheese plate to the seared duck breast, your selection will be paired with great tunes from local artists.
Pita Pit Healthy options abound at this national chain, where you can fill your pita with toppings ranging from roasted red peppers to feta cheese.

The Tin Cow Burger lovers, beware. You get to pick everything, from your patty (chicken and Bison to name a few) to your bun, cheese, and a bevvy of toppings and sauces. There are also great milkshakes (grownups can have theirs spiked).
V. Paul’s Italian Ristorante Try your favorite dishes at Palafox’s newest eatery, serving authentic Italian fare in an open, modern setting.
The Wine Bar on Palafox If you just want to sip, stop here for sure. But if you’re hungry, there’s also great treats to eat – from nuts and cheese to paninis and a grilled steak.
